Sample assignment

This is a sample of an assignment that could be given on a blog:

Review this article http://sixminutes.dlugan.com/use-powerpoint-visuals-not-bullets-what-the-world-eats/

I will have a question prompt for you at the next class period to discuss what you have read.

Testing video and audio

OK – now I am less satsified than I thought I’d be. The biggest video file I can upload is 32 mb which is only about a minute of video. The audio files won’t upload b/c they are “not secure”.

I suppose Blackboard is still the best place to upload audio files for the students to review. I am still searching for a good place to upload the speech videos. Right now I use Yahoo! video, but the limit there is 100 mb. This is fine for speeches that are less than 5 minutes, but for longer ones I have to split them in half, which is time consuming.

I’m thinking blogs might be a better option for traditional (not online) classes.

A new post

I am liking this blog more than I originally thought I would. I thought I would not be able to create multiple blogs with this username, but turns out I can! This is great for having one blog for public speaking and another one for interpersonal.

The reason I chose this blog was b/c it allows you to post audio and video for free. This could be useful in public speaking courses.
